Photography at Sandbach Flashes

There have been reports of photographers on the fields bordering Elton Hall Flash and behind the Bird Feeding Stations. Elton Hall Flash is a Site of Special Scientific Interest (SSSI) and access is not permitted.

Penalties for this type of disturbance can be imposed under the Wildlife and Countryside Act 1981, e.g. unlimited fine, six months imprisonment or both. Disturbing the birds causes them to use up valuable energy to evade danger and may prevent them from finding sufficient food to survive.

Visitors are advised that “viewing/photography is only from the roadside and the provided viewpoint also please keep a reasonable distance from the feeders”
